The new pier district, in the heart of downtown, provides interactive experiences throughout its 3,065 foot length. Visitors can choose their experience throughout the area, and its exploration and activity areas provide a multitude of flexible programs and experiences for both tourists and the local community – from children to seniors, nature lovers to boaters, fishermen to fine diners. There are many seating spaces tucked away, a section of built-in shaded umbrellas, a spray ground and separate playground, a coastal thicket for walking in the shade, a tilted lawn for concerts, space for food trucks, and five eating venues. The St. Petersburg Pier gives amazing views of the city’s skyline. This multi-million project opened in July 2020 and is the jewel of downtown’s waterfront.
